The 'esales' ecommerce package from Lycosa is to have a voucher feature added. This will massively extend the marketing capabilities of the system.

The voucher system will allow discount voucher codes to be offered to individual customers or globally, on a particular product or for final checkout. Each voucher can be time limited to co-ordinate with your marketing push.

The voucher codes can be copied into email shots. In fact, we are working on an auto responder feature to our 'mailshot' email newsletter system. This will allow users to create a series of articles for immediate publication upon customer sign up.

These two additional features will allow vendors to maximise their online marketing efforts. For example, offer new customers a one-off discount voucher for signing up to your newsletter. The newsletter they receive will be the first in the auto responder series, complete with the discount voucher. You can then send weekly/monthly offers direct to your customer base, along with any vouchers you like.

This is a very exciting time for Lycosa, although there's not much sleep to be had ;
