Blog Submitter Pro - useful tool or annoying spam?

I bought Blog Submitter Pro last night, and have been trying it out. It submits your message to blog pages to improve search engine ranking and link popularity.

I have seen various web sites that have differing views on this product, and the techniques it employs. Some say it is the best tool they have ever used and generates high volumes of traffic, whereas others relate stories of hate mail from angry bloggers, annoyed at being spammed.

What do you think about this? If you have come to this blog in reply to receiving one of the messages this programme creates, please leave a comment, good or bad. I understand that this can be emotive, so please keep it clean, and don't be abusive. I am just trialling this software in an attempt to boost the visibility of this site and possibly my clients sites - if it works, and proves not to be too annoying.

If I receive a lot of complaints, I will stop using it and demand a refund.

Thanks for your time.

I trialled the software for a couple of days, but I have serious doubts about it. Within that time, my link popularity plummetted from well over 2000 right down to 750 - according to www.pagerank.net

This is the exact opposite to the desired effect =:-(

I didn't really receive any emails about it, but the blog messages it leaves are generic and (in terms of quality blogging) pointless.

This is clearly a 'black hat' marketing technique which I am not comfortable with.

So I asked for a refund, which was dealt with promptly and efficiently, with no fuss.

I think this company have attempted to create a one-click solution to marketing. It's a brave attempt, but I don't think there is really any substitute for the hard graft.

I don't want to get good rankings off the back of annoying people and treating their blogs as my personal marketing playground. I have more respect than that.

Hi, I tried the product too and had angry posts and emails. I agree it could be seen as 'black-hat' and like you am not comfortable with that.

I also got a rapid, courteous refund.

Thanks for the information...

I thought about and thought about
purchasing this product since its release.

But I keep getting this feeling that I will be thought of as a spammer..

So last night I took a look at the Links: that link to catfurniturediscounters on yahoo from blogspot...

I found that most of the blogs that were submitted to had no comments on them anyway and probably don't care but I still
don't know yet...

I probably wouldn't care if someone left one of those comments on one of my blogs but I can see how it could get out of hand.

On a couple of the blogs there was the same comment posted back to back...That's not good

Good thing they give prompt refunds..

Have a great day

Yes, I too have purchased Blog Submitter Pro. I have no idea of results. But for my first test run I let it post to about 6 blogs, then stopped it and went to those blogs to see what the affect was. 3 of them were foreign language so pointless having posted to them. The remainder seemed completely off-topic. I was under the impression that the program would search out blogs RELATED to my keywords and only post on those blogs. That does not appear to be the case. Maybe I misunderstood! My gut feeling after seeing the results was much the same as you guys, that I was just being rude and irrelevant. I also have a gut feeling that even though it is supposed to act like a human, surely Google and the likes can easily track the sudden increase in links to the same site that have appeared in the space of an hour or so!! It just doesn't feel right.

I don't think I will be buying this.

hmm, i was thinking of buying this too - perhaps i won't now. From what i could understand it posted comments and created backlinks for you on RELATED topics and KEYWORDS. Well, if that is not the case, what is the point in buying it.. its trying to generate what a human does, but every post is unique when a human does it. I spose nothing can beat someone who is prepared to spend the time finding well related topics with gd keywords and posting/commenting on them.

I am using www-mass-blog-submitter.com . This company has mass blog software that submits to thousands of blogs in a few minutes. I went from 200 links to over 2000 links. I would try them out.

Thank you to the last two posts - I have indeed checked them out, and it seems you are both advertising the same product. This product is no different in principle to the one I first commented about.

I am sure you have both increased your traffic due to the increase in link popularity and click-throughs.

But this was not my point. I know hundreds of black hat techniques to create massive traffic for my customers. But this is not the spirit of the internet. I offer professional seo/promotion services, and do not want my reputation tarred by stooping to these levels.

A couple of weeks ago, Google announced they had made considerable changes to their alogorithms, and reciprocal linking has now been virtually banished as an effective means of creating link popularity. This is just one more genuine activity that has been soured by the black hat marketeers. Is every good idea going to be soured in the same way?

I firmly believe that these mass blog submission tools will become obsolute very, very quickly. The internet is organic, and the effectiveness of these programmes will become less in a very short period of time. As soon as some black hat technique becomes popular, it becomes less effective.

I may be taking the moral high ground here, but if Google et al. did nothing to prevent this sort of thing, the internet would just be a sesspit of chronic advertising with little of real value. As it is, the custodians of good practice see to it that the internet is a vibrant, interesting place that rewards good quality, informative content and banishes the irresponsible marketeer.

Where would the open source project be if everyone had that kind of attitude?

Let me share my experience with Blog Submitter Pro V.Search with you. On Nov 8th I began pointing it to one of my real estate sites. At the time, my ranking of the site on major search engines was reasonable, but not great. The exact numbers were: Google: 27 links … AltaVista: 589 links … AllTheWeb: 584 links … Teoma: 30 links … Yahoo!: 595 links and MSN: 10 links.

I ran Blog Submitter Pro V.Search quite a bit between then and now. Some glitches, but overall I felt it was an elegant piece of software … or at least a clever one.

The multiple post occurrence was a serious problem, but I still felt the program was delivering. My blogger “comments” were well thought out, and they posted accurately. An example or two of a typical comment:

(1) Hi. After suffering through the tree-busting, home-wreaking destruction of Hurricane Wilma, and being away from the Internet for well over a week because Adelphia broadband blew away in the wind, it’s nice to read things like your blog. Even though I really am searching for information on Boca Raton Real Estate, which I might be able to use on my Boca Raton real estate site ... thanks for the read.

Or this:

(2) Blog-skipping is the latest cybersport … sort of like skipping stones across the water … see how many blogs you can ripple through before your fingers stiffen up. It’s an amusing break from working on my Boca Raton real estate site . Your blog has slowed me down a little, because I enjoyed the read. Still … off I cyberskip to the next site :o)

I had a minimum of ten such messages whenever I turned on Blog Submitter Pro V.Search, validated by ten different sets of credentials.

The first hint of a real letdown came when three of my credentials were tagged by the Blogger folks as “SPAM BLOGS” … a DIRECT result of using Blog Submitter Pro V.Search software. And that, sadly, turns out to be the GOOD news.

After three weeks, my ranking of the site on major search engines (the result of almost 6 months of hard work) was, in my opinion, badly damaged. The exact numbers as of this writing are: Google: 27 links (as before) … AltaVista: 283 links (a drop of 306 links) … AllTheWeb: 71 links (a drop of 513 links) … Teoma: 30 links (as before) … Yahoo!: 286 links (a drop of 309 links) and MSN: 96 links (an increase of 86 links).

I attribute this damage directly to the use of Blog Submitter Pro V.Search software. I expect my rankings on Google and Teoma to slide on the next update from their search engines (which seems to happen aboiut once a month). I am sure the increase in MSN will also be seriously reversed.

To say I am disappointed in the software would be a gross understatement. I am only glad I had the foresight to use it on a single website, and not on all of my websites.

I will continue to use it on the damaged site to see if continues to hurt, rather than help. And I will report back to anyone interested. The site in question is http://www.bocasite.com. My e-mail is temple@bocasite.com. Good luck, folks. I think, with this software, we are going to need it.

I'm very glad to find this blog ! I was curious about blog submitter pro since I read one ebook and the ebook publisher recommend this software for search engine. Actually her website's rank seems to boost to top 2 ranking in Google with keyword "rich jerk"and her site is still in top 2 in google.
But I don't think I will purchase the software.
